A Bright White Promise

I now know the touch
Of another heart like mine.
Impoverished, hungry,
lonely, gentle, needing.
The soothing teal whisper kisses
On the last breath of summer’s first sunset.

I know your essence at my lips,
Glistening on my palms,
Filling my being.
An ointment to these wounds.
A salve for my fractured spirit.
Its light from which I grow.
A voice from which I’ll learn

I have you in my life now.
A nourishment,
A fount of idea, of smile,
Inspiration and fresh dream.
Pregnant with a blue-white promise,
A star nursery, birthing
Its wonder, love, and ever unfolding joy.
